[ANN][ANDROID MINING][AIRDROP] NewEnglandcoin: Scrypt RandomSpike

New England
New England 6 States Songs: https://www.reddit.com/newengland/comments/er8wxd/new_england_6_states_songs/
NewEnglandcoin
Symbol: NENG
NewEnglandcoin is a clone of Bitcoin using scrypt as a proof-of-work algorithm with enhanced features to protect against 51% attack and decentralize on mining to allow diversified mining rigs across CPUs, GPUs, ASICs and Android phones.
Mining Algorithm: Scrypt with RandomSpike. RandomSpike is 3rd generation of Dynamic Difficulty (DynDiff) algorithm on top of scrypt.
1 minute block targets base difficulty reset: every 1440 blocks subsidy halves in 2.1m blocks (~ 2 to 4 years) 84,000,000,000 total maximum NENG 20000 NENG per block Pre-mine: 1% - reserved for dev fund ICO: None RPCPort: 6376 Port: 6377
NewEnglandcoin has dogecoin like supply at 84 billion maximum NENG. This huge supply insures that NENG is suitable for retail transactions and daily use. The inflation schedule of NengEnglandcoin is actually identical to that of Litecoin. Bitcoin and Litecoin are already proven to be great long term store of value. The Litecoin-like NENG inflation schedule will make NewEnglandcoin ideal for long term investment appreciation as the supply is limited and capped at a fixed number
Bitcoin Fork - Suitable for Home Hobbyists
NewEnglandcoin core wallet continues to maintain version tag of "Satoshi v0.8.7.5" because NewEnglandcoin is very much an exact clone of bitcoin plus some mining feature changes with DynDiff algorithm. NewEnglandcoin is very suitable as lite version of bitcoin for educational purpose on desktop mining, full node running and bitcoin programming using bitcoin-json APIs.
The NewEnglandcoin (NENG) mining algorithm original upgrade ideas were mainly designed for decentralization of mining rigs on scrypt, which is same algo as litecoin/dogecoin. The way it is going now is that NENG is very suitable for bitcoin/litecoin/dogecoin hobbyists who can not , will not spend huge money to run noisy ASIC/GPU mining equipments, but still want to mine NENG at home with quiet simple CPU/GPU or with a cheap ASIC like FutureBit Moonlander 2 USB or Apollo pod on solo mining setup to obtain very decent profitable results. NENG allows bitcoin litecoin hobbyists to experience full node running, solo mining, CPU/GPU/ASIC for a fun experience at home at cheap cost without breaking bank on equipment or electricity.

CPU Minable Coin Because of dynamic difficulty algorithm on top of scrypt, NewEnglandcoin is CPU Minable. Users can easily set up full node for mining at Home PC or Mac using our dedicated cheetah software.
Research on the first forked 50 blocks on v1.2.0 core confirmed that ASIC/GPU miners mined 66% of 50 blocks, CPU miners mined the remaining 34%.
NENG v1.4.0 release enabled CPU mining inside android phones.

Decentralization and Community Driven NewEnglandcoin is a decentralized coin just like bitcoin. There is no boss on NewEnglandcoin. Nobody nor the dev owns NENG.
We know a coin is worth nothing if there is no backing from community. Therefore, we as dev do not intend to make decision on this coin solely by ourselves. It is our expectation that NewEnglandcoin community will make majority of decisions on direction of this coin from now on. We as dev merely view our-self as coin creater and technical support of this coin while providing NENG a permanent home at ShorelineCrypto Exchange.

ASIC/GPU Mining Pools Warning to Big ASIC Miners Due to DynDiff Algo on top of Scrypt, solo mining is recommended for ASIC/GPU miners. Further more, even for mining pools, small mining pool will generate better performance than big NENG mining pool because of new algo v1.2.x post hard fork.
The set up configuration of NENG for scrypt pool mining is same as a typical normal scrypt coin. In other word, DynDiff on Scrypt algo is backward compatible with Scrypt algo. Because ASIC/GPU miners rely on CPU miners for smooth blockchain movement, checkout bottom of "Latest News" section for A WARNING to All ASIC miners before you decide to dump big ASIC hash rate into NENG mining.
(1) Original DynDiff Warning: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5027091.msg48324708#msg48324708 (2) New Warning on RandomSpike Spike difficulty (244k) introduced in RandomSpike served as roadblocks to instant mining and provide security against 51% attack risk. However, this spike difficulty like a roadblock that makes big ASIC mining less profitable. In case of spike block to be mined, the spike difficulty immediately serve as base difficulty, which will block GPU/ASIC miners effectively and leave CPU cheetah solo miners dominating mining almost 100% until next base difficulty reset.

Groestlcoin 6th Anniversary Release

Introduction

Dear Groestlers, it goes without saying that 2020 has been a difficult time for millions of people worldwide. The groestlcoin team would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone our best to everyone coping with the direct and indirect effects of COVID-19. Let it bring out the best in us all and show that collectively, we can conquer anything.
The centralised banks and our national governments are facing unprecedented times with interest rates worldwide dropping to record lows in places. Rest assured that this can only strengthen the fundamentals of all decentralised cryptocurrencies and the vision that was seeded with Satoshi's Bitcoin whitepaper over 10 years ago. Despite everything that has been thrown at us this year, the show must go on and the team will still progress and advance to continue the momentum that we have developed over the past 6 years.
In addition to this, we'd like to remind you all that this is Groestlcoin's 6th Birthday release! In terms of price there have been some crazy highs and lows over the years (with highs of around $2.60 and lows of $0.000077!), but in terms of value– Groestlcoin just keeps getting more valuable! In these uncertain times, one thing remains clear – Groestlcoin will keep going and keep innovating regardless. On with what has been worked on and completed over the past few months.

UPDATED - Groestlcoin Core 2.18.2

This is a major release of Groestlcoin Core with many protocol level improvements and code optimizations, featuring the technical equivalent of Bitcoin v0.18.2 but with Groestlcoin-specific patches. On a general level, most of what is new is a new 'Groestlcoin-wallet' tool which is now distributed alongside Groestlcoin Core's other executables.
NOTE: The 'Account' API has been removed from this version which was typically used in some tip bots. Please ensure you check the release notes from 2.17.2 for details on replacing this functionality.

How to Upgrade?

ALL NEW - Groestlcoin Moonshine iOS/Android Wallet

Built with React Native, Moonshine utilizes Electrum-GRS's JSON-RPC methods to interact with the Groestlcoin network.
GRS Moonshine's intended use is as a hot wallet. Meaning, your keys are only as safe as the device you install this wallet on. As with any hot wallet, please ensure that you keep only a small, responsible amount of Groestlcoin on it at any given time.

ALL NEW! – HODL GRS Android Wallet

HODL GRS connects directly to the Groestlcoin network using SPV mode and doesn't rely on servers that can be hacked or disabled.
HODL GRS utilizes AES hardware encryption, app sandboxing, and the latest security features to protect users from malware, browser security holes, and even physical theft. Private keys are stored only in the secure enclave of the user's phone, inaccessible to anyone other than the user.
Simplicity and ease-of-use is the core design principle of HODL GRS. A simple recovery phrase (which we call a Backup Recovery Key) is all that is needed to restore the user's wallet if they ever lose or replace their device. HODL GRS is deterministic, which means the user's balance and transaction history can be recovered just from the backup recovery key.

ALL NEW! – GroestlcoinSeed Savior

Groestlcoin Seed Savior is a tool for recovering BIP39 seed phrases.
This tool is meant to help users with recovering a slightly incorrect Groestlcoin mnemonic phrase (AKA backup or seed). You can enter an existing BIP39 mnemonic and get derived addresses in various formats.
To find out if one of the suggested addresses is the right one, you can click on the suggested address to check the address' transaction history on a block explorer.

ALL NEW! – Vanity Search Vanity Address Generator

NOTE: NVidia GPU or any CPU only. AMD graphics cards will not work with this address generator.
VanitySearch is a command-line Segwit-capable vanity Groestlcoin address generator. Add unique flair when you tell people to send Groestlcoin. Alternatively, VanitySearch can be used to generate random addresses offline.
If you're tired of the random, cryptic addresses generated by regular groestlcoin clients, then VanitySearch is the right choice for you to create a more personalized address.
VanitySearch is a groestlcoin address prefix finder. If you want to generate safe private keys, use the -s option to enter your passphrase which will be used for generating a base key as for BIP38 standard (VanitySearch.exe -s "My PassPhrase" FXPref). You can also use VanitySearch.exe -ps "My PassPhrase" which will add a crypto secure seed to your passphrase.
VanitySearch may not compute a good grid size for your GPU, so try different values using -g option in order to get the best performances. If you want to use GPUs and CPUs together, you may have best performances by keeping one CPU core for handling GPU(s)/CPU exchanges (use -t option to set the number of CPU threads).

ALL NEW! – Groestlcoin EasyVanity 2020

Groestlcoin EasyVanity 2020 is a windows app built from the ground-up and makes it easier than ever before to create your very own bespoke bech32 address(es) when whilst not connected to the internet.
If you're tired of the random, cryptic bech32 addresses generated by regular Groestlcoin clients, then Groestlcoin EasyVanity2020 is the right choice for you to create a more personalised bech32 address. This 2020 version uses the new VanitySearch to generate not only legacy addresses (F prefix) but also Bech32 addresses (grs1 prefix).

ALL NEW! – Electrum Personal Server

Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server aims to make using Electrum Groestlcoin wallet more secure and more private. It makes it easy to connect your Electrum-GRS wallet to your own full node.
It is an implementation of the Electrum-grs server protocol which fulfils the specific need of using the Electrum-grs wallet backed by a full node, but without the heavyweight server backend, for a single user. It allows the user to benefit from all Groestlcoin Core's resource-saving features like pruning, blocks only and disabled txindex. All Electrum-GRS's feature-richness like hardware wallet integration, multi-signature wallets, offline signing, seed recovery phrases, coin control and so on can still be used, but connected only to the user's own full node.
Full node wallets are important in Groestlcoin because they are a big part of what makes the system be trust-less. No longer do people have to trust a financial institution like a bank or PayPal, they can run software on their own computers. If Groestlcoin is digital gold, then a full node wallet is your own personal goldsmith who checks for you that received payments are genuine.
Full node wallets are also important for privacy. Using Electrum-GRS under default configuration requires it to send (hashes of) all your Groestlcoin addresses to some server. That server can then easily spy on your transactions. Full node wallets like Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server would download the entire blockchain and scan it for the user's own addresses, and therefore don't reveal to anyone else which Groestlcoin addresses they are interested in.
Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server can also broadcast transactions through Tor which improves privacy by resisting traffic analysis for broadcasted transactions which can link the IP address of the user to the transaction. If enabled this would happen transparently whenever the user simply clicks "Send" on a transaction in Electrum-grs wallet.
Note: Currently Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server can only accept one connection at a time.

Bitcoin Rhodium Mining Guide
Happy Mining!

All available XRC pools can be found on MiningPoolStats

Bitcoin Rhodium Mining Hardware

Baikal Giant+: 1.6 GH/s
Baikal Quad Cube: 1.2 GH/s
Baikal Giant: 900 MH/s
Baikal Quadruple Mini Miner: 600 MH/s
Baikal Miner Cube: 300 MH/s
Baikal Mini Miner: 150 MH/s

Mining Setup

To mine Bitcoin Rhodium you need to set up an XRC wallet and configure your miner of choice. You can choose between Web wallet, Electrum-XRC or Magnum wallet. To set up a web wallet please visit wallet.bitcoinrh.org. Or download and install Electrum-XRC wallet (recommended) for Windows, Linux and MacOS.
Web wallet: wallet.bitcoinrh.org
Electrum-XRC wallet: electrum.bitcoinrh.org
Magnum wallet: https://magnumwallet.co

Sign up for XRC web wallet if not yet done so

  1. Create an account, with your username, password and secure question.
  2. Sign in and click “Create Wallet”.
  3. Set up a strong transaction password. Make sure you store it securely in a secure password manager of choice.
  4. Copy the seed somewhere safe. It’d be a good idea to write seed on a hardcopy and keep it safe.
  5. Paste it to confirm you got it right.
  6. Grab an address for the mining step. Your wallet is now ready to mine XRC.

Instructions for mining XRC on the official pool

Pool link: poolcore.bitcoinrh.org
  1. Any miner that supports X13 will be able to mine XRC. We have a few examples below of miners that are well tested with Bitcoin Rhodium network.
  2. For any miner, configure the miner to point to:
(0–0.8 GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3061
(0.8–2 GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3062
(3–4 GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3063
(5+ GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3064
with your XRC address as username and x as password. You don’t need to open an account on pool. You will be mining to XRC address and mined coins will be transferred to your wallet
after blocks reach 10 block maturity
after you mined up minimal amount of coins (currently 0.1 XRC)
sometimes mined blocks could get rejected by network (orphaned) after they were counted as valid blocks. This is normal network behavior to follow longest chain
  1. http://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org is used to follow your miner and network statistics.

Help, I found a trojan bitcoin miner! Details inside

Hey guys, the other day I ran malwarebytes and it picked up a trojan bitcoin miner. It consisted of 4 threats, 3 registry which got deleted/quarantined, but 1 "file" that it said removal failed.
Picture of the scan results.
After the quarantine, when i scan with malwarebytes and windows defender it doesn't pick up anything and states that there is no threats? Am i safe?

Malwarebytes advanced results text file.

0xBitcoin (0xBTC) nVidia CUDA Miner, Pre-Built for Windows and Instructions. Newbie-friendly!

** PLEASE READ THE README! See the end of this post for more troubleshooting tips! Thanks! **
NOTE: I've retracted build TOFU-RC1.1 because of an issue communicating shares to the pool. I'll put another build together for Windows X64, and any info you will need to run it, once we figure out what the issue is. Thanks for your patience! RC1 does not show a hashrate report, but you can verify your approx. hashrate on the TMP pool's stats page.
** This build brings CUDA mining functionality from Linux to Windows X64 users. I tried to make it as easy to set up as possible. This is still software in-the-works, so please report any problems you might have here or at the Discord so we can figure them out! Thanks! **
Here's my attempt at making the CUDA miner work on Windows, and making it as painless as I can! Hopefully this is fairly "plug and play". :) I also added some functionality. I hope you guys like it! The enclosed README.txt should explain how to run and use it and solutions to some common problems.
Build Mag517-RC1 for Windows X64: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1QWF_S7mfLGDk2YARC1ZZBYkmpqILLr0h
I am going to commit my changes to the GitHub, once I set it up.
Hurrah to the whole OPEN SOURCE 0xBitcoin miner team on the Discord! Including Infernal Toast, Mikers, @0x1d00ffff, developers of code this project is based on, coder of the original CPU miner and 1000x "Kaio-Ken" version... plus everyone else who knows who they are!
Good Luck! May I suggest we join forces and point our miners at the TMP pool for the time being: http://tokenminingpool.com:8586 so that we can get some blocks and give PizzaPool some competition, with lower-fee pools and open-source, community supported miners. Let's take back the game! ;)
Donations [ETH/0xBTC] welcome! Help my broke ass buy groceries. 0xa8b8ea4C083890833f24817b4657888431486444
TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS:

INTENSITY

Is your machine's GUI too slow when mining? Try reducing intensity with the Block and Thread settings (Read on), turn off Hardware Acceleration in Windows and applications like FireFox, Chrome and Discord to make them draw with the CPU more, not the busy GPU.
If you want it buttery-smooth, boot up with your monitor connected to a separate graphics card and mine on the non-display adapter. If your CPU has on-chip graphics, you can probably hook up to your motherboard's video output (not your graphics card's). Make sure the processor or onboard graphics are enabled and set as default in your BIOS/UEFI setup.
THE WINDOW CLOSES IMMEDIATELY
This is a command-line miner, so you must run it in a command prompt / powershell to see any output if it closes prematurely. Most often, the error you're looking at is the next one:

I GET A WEIRD DEPENDENCY ERROR, LOTS OF .JS STUFF

Make sure you have CUDA v9.1 or latest installed. Install the patches that are on the same download page after you install the main package. Make sure the paths have been added to your Environment Variables in the System Control Panel, Advanced Settings. Reboot or at least log out and back in to apply the new paths before running the miner.

WANT TO MINE WITH MORE THAN ONE GPU?

Remove an SLI or Crossfire bridge, if present. Disable SLI/Crossfire. Rename the EXE file to something else. Run both instances and use the nVidia Control Panel (right-click Desktop, nVidia option) to configure which card should run which process. This neat trick was discovered by @DigitalApathy on the Discord server!

KERNEL FAILS TO LAUNCH

Investigate the reported error, if any. This is most often caused by too high Block / Thread settings. It can also mean the GPU is busy, as in the miner did not gracefully close and release the device. Reboot or otherwise reset the card via software.
POOL NOTE: I strongly recommend the use of TokenMiningPool and 0xPool as of 03.10.2018. This is so that we can build up a large enough hashpower to compete with the Pizza Pool (closed-source mining pool with DevFees.) Right now, PizzaPool is getting most of the blocks and the community pools aren't getting a fair shake. Let's join forces on TMP and 0xPool!
Enjoy! - Lt. Tofu

Usage

Helix has numerous features. Remember that this list is not limited, and that we will always work hard to add new features:
  • Fast and secure transactions.
  • Strong privacy with options for both private and transparent transactions.
  • Rewards for participating in the Helix network. This includes Proof of Stake (PoS) as well as the possibility for masternode rewards.
  • Participating in governance and voting in important matters that concern the whole community.
  • Multi-OS wallets: Windows, MacOS, Linux, and many more to come.
  • Very easy access to all our features and wallets.
  • We will continue to work hard on making Helix grow, check out our roadmap for details.
We believe in empowering individuals by creating a strong community. We give freedom back to the people by using our strong Helix blockchain network and decentralized technology. This allows people to do business without the compromise of being subject to surveillance by centralized or legal institutions.

Proof of Stake

Bitcoin uses a cryptographic hashing algorithm to encode the transactions in the blockchain. Miners create these hashes by using a ‘Proof of Work’ (PoW) algorithm. The network hashrate is actually inflating as it requires a lot of power to create a new block in its blockchain.
Unlike Bitcoins PoW mechanism, Helix blockchain uses a hybrid system. The first 90.200 blocks are PoW, and after this period we switch to a PoS mechanism. The rewards a user receives depends on the amount of stake the participant has in the Helix network. The more you participate in validating and processing Helix transactions and its blocks, the more rewards you receive. Therefore, it’s incentivized to invest in Helix as a valuable core product.

Masternodes

The value of Helix lies in its main vision: building a secure and scalable currency. Therefore, Helix implemented masternodes, which can be used to earn more Helix by passive income to increase your holdings with a great risk/reward ratio. A masternode costs 10.000 HLIX and gives a ROI of 60%.
Masternodes are enhanced nodes that are always up and running, which provide additional functions and security to the Helix network. Masternodes provide an enhanced form of staking, increase the privacy and speed of transactions and enables participation in governance and voting within the Helix community. A Helix masternode processes Zerocoin (zHLIX) transactions which ensures topnotch privacy (more about this subject under ‘Privacy’).

Privacy

Helix believes in true and strong privacy. Bitcoins transactions are traceable for anyone who’s interested to find out. A high degree of privacy doesn’t allow this potential loss of privacy. That’s why Helix implemented the Zerocoin protocol. For detailed information about Zerocoin, read their whitepaper.
For this service, Helix coins have to convert into a zHLIX coin. This process, called ‘minting’, is provided by masternodes running on the Helix Blockchain. No traces are left behind during this process. RSA-2048 encryption makes sure no information about the users is shared whatsoever. To reverse this process, you can send your zHLIX coins to your own address back into regular HLIX coins.

Coin information

Helix is founded on September 1st 2018. A total coin supply of 500.000.000 HLIX will be created, with a functional pre-mine of 1% (5.000.000 HLIX). This will be used for marketing, development and exchange listing fees. The first period will exist of a PoW phase (10.000.000 HLIX), followed by a PoS phase (485.000.000 HLIX).

The following table shows the block rewards. They adjust after a certain amount is reached, to control inflation of the supply of Helix:

Community

The community started with a couple of early adopters who were unhappy about the way some projects were run by its developers. No innovation or vision whatsoever made us motivated to create something better. Since Helix did not have an ICO and only started with a functional pre-mine of 1%, it’s really thanks to the true core believers who put in their time and effort that made Helix a reality.
We aim to provide 24/7 support, and we believe in a community who help each other out. Positivity and fun should be your top priority as a Helix community member. In accordance to this, we created the Helix masternode governance system to bring back the power to the people. By letting you decide on important matters, you’re in control of your investment.

Join us!

More people are joining every day and we hope this growth won’t stop. Don’t feel afraid to join us and introduce yourself. We’re looking forward to meet you!
With the upcoming years ahead of us, we believe that exciting things will happen. Helix is a premium privacy ¬centric cryptocurrency, with strong features resulting in a decentralized, effectively anonymous cryptocurrency, with immediate (private) transactions and an incentivized network to provide additional services and security to the blockchain network of Helix. We will continue to work hard on the project, and hope to see you join us.

Should I just reformart in this case ? (mbam log inside)

After many years of not installing random shit, I was not paying attention and something probably came with this trojan/bitcoin miner. I noticed it after 1-2 hours since I installed a game.
Should I reinstall windows 7 ? Also will it be less secure if I recover a windows 7 image with clonezilla instead,that I have configured for faster reformatint to not bother with drivers,programs etc.(that is some minutes after a clean install)

Horrible Performance - Help?

Hello all,
Recently I redownloaded GW2 after a semi-long hiatus following the launch of HoT. Since HoT's launch, I have upgraded my PC significantly (full replacement) with much better components than I ever had in my old rig; yet for some reason, I cannot play the game on high settings on my machine whilst maintaining 60fps. In LA, I'm lucky to have 20 FPS consistently, if not 10-15.
My rig is as follows:
CPU - I7-6800K (stock clockrate) @ 3.40 GHz (12 logical cores) Memory - 16GB @ 2133MHz DDR4 GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (stock clockrate; MSI Armor) MoBo - Asus X-99A SSD - Samsung Evo 850 500 GB
I have tried the documented troubleshooting steps I've seen around on this reddit (specifying cores, forcing high-performance mode for the 1080 in GeForce Experience, deleting cache/temp files, repairing client, reinstalling drivers and game, using x64 client etc.) but haven't had any luck at all at getting any better performance. Whether I'm at the lowest of the low settings, or the highest of the high, the GPU sits at 98% load on this game (framerate changes between 22FPS - 50FPS in LA near dungeon gear vendors), and the game drops frames consistently. Disconnecting my second monitor does not change anything, load and performance remain constant.
I can currently pop on Overwatch, run the game on Ultra and play at a consistent 40-60 FPS depending on particle effects of the map/heroes. I can also pop into Witcher 3 and get between 30-60 FPS with the game cranked all the way up; yet GW2 chugs like crazy. My old machine, back when GW2 launched, had used a gen 2 I5 and an AMD Radeon 7870 and never had these issues (not as bad, anyways).
Does anyone have any insight or leads for me to go on? I really want to get back to playing (did Patriarch in Meguma earlier somehow) but I really can't take the awful frame drops.
Thank you for your time.
Edit: Thanks for all your input guys, turned out to be a bitcoin miner disguised as a system process. Seems to be going smooth now!

GPU fan randomly locking to 100%?

Hey all. Weird one for ya. I've got an Acer TC-105, and installed a Sapphire Radeon NITRO R7 360 2GB roughly a year ago. When the system was on Windows 8.1, it worked fine. I clean installed Windows 10, and now I'll randomly get the Radeon GPU fan turning on at 100% without any programs using the GPU.
So far I've verified that it's NOT the following:
The only way that I've found to effectively fix the problem is to restart.
System Specs:
I've noticed on every second bootup that I'll get get an "ACPI_BIOS_ERROR" on bootup. When reading about it, most places said that it was probably the bios battery, so I replaced that, but I still get the error every second bootup. It doesn't matter if it's started from power off, or a restart.
Other than that, my system's been rock solid. I can play Fallout 4, GTA 5, Just Cause 3, Eve Online, and Star Trek Online just fine. The GPU fan keeps the system cool. The max temp I've ever seen is 75c, and that had the fan whirring fairly loud, but not at 100%.
Am I missing anything? Clearly my system is haunted. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Bitvote uses CryptoNight algorithm, which responds to Satoshi Nakamoto's vision of one-CPU-one-vote, to balance hashrate distribution, making decentralization a real thing.
Replay Protection
Improved wallet safety and eliminated double hashing problem make complete replay protection come true, which protects users and their tokens from various accidents as well as malicious threats.
Block Size Expansion
The block size is expanded to 8M, and the block also supports SegWit. Transaction speed can be improved greatly, so bitcoin network congestion will be completely solved and its practical values will be added.
Lightning Network
There is no need to trust the other party or the third party to achieve real-time and huge amounts of transactions, and payment channels are introduced to enhance the extensibility.
Smart Contract
With the system that has infinite possibilities and the ability to issue assets and establish applications, Bitvote is a token which integrates values and practicability together.
Block Vote
Bitvote employs the scheme of block mark bidding and voting independently. The development direction of the community will be decided by the voting result; thus an autonomous community can be established and divergences can be solved democratically.

How to mine Protoshares on 10 CPUs for free for 3 days.

*You will need a valid credit or debt card for this. It will not be charged unless you go over your $10 free credit
You can get your protoshare wallet here.
  1. Make an account at DigitalOcean.com
Non-referral
  1. Use promocode : DIVEIN10 for $10 credit
  2. Created a 2 CPU droplet for $20 per month that is running Debian 7.0 x64.
  3. Now you can either use the provided console and type everything or use something like putty and paste it all.
  4. Username is root and password was emailed to you. The password doesn't show as it is typed so hit enter when done.
  5. Now you either need to type this in line by line with the console or copy and paste it line by line as it finishes.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install yasm -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb++-dev libgmp-dev libssl-dev dos2unix
git clone https://github.com/thbaumbach/ptsminer
cd ~/ptsminesrc
make -f makefile.unix
./ptsminer
  1. Now the miner should have started. Go to later http://ptsweb.beeeeer.org/use to check earnings.
  2. Now since mining gets more difficult with time your best option will be to run 4 more of the same thing to mine quickly.
Each server costs $20. So $20*5 = $100.
$100/30 = $3.33 each day
You have $10 credit so you have ~3 days worth of mining that you can do for free.
If you go over you will only be be charged the extra by the hour so don't worry about getting a huge charge on your creditcard unless you forget for a month.
WHAT IF I WANT BITCOINS OR ANOTHER CURRENCY NOT PROTOSHARES?
Well you can try to find other guides online to use these servers, but unless it is a CPU only coin the results won't be worth it.
You can also trade them on Cryptsy for other coins including bitcoins.
Cryptsy non-refferal

How To Mine Doge with Ubuntu 13.10. (Part 1, for AMD Graphics Cards)

I feel the community really needs a resource like this. Because if I had a Doge for every-time taught a newbie how to Mine on Ubuntu, I would be a very rich doge!
EDIT: Sorry if it looks funny, Reddit doesn't like the numbers I put in for some reason.
If you have Ubuntu you have likely not upgraded because you think you cant mine on 13.10, and while that has been true in the past, a few people have got it figured out. So feel free to upgrade. If you are not on Ubuntu, Seriously you should consider using it. Even if its just on an older desktop.
Alright, so lets get a few things clear, I am assuming that you just FRESHLY installed Ubuntu 13.10 x64 on your system. I am assuming that you have no drivers, and no miners. You will need at least a key board and a mouse. The guide will be done in several parts, this first part is for most AMD Graphics cards. If you have an Nvidia, or just want to mine with your CPU, please check back later for those guides!
When reading this guide, please remember that as I give you commands to type into the terminal, Anything between { and} must be included. Do not copy and paste the {}.
Lets get started, If you have not already done so, Install Ubuntu 13.10 64Bit From Here (http://www.ubuntu.com/index_asus.html)
*1. Lets start by making sure you are up to date. Open up the terminal and enter this:
{sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade}
Let that run for a bit.
*2. Once that has finished we are going to download some applications we will need:
{sudo apt-get install dh-make dh-modaliases execstack libxrandr2 libice6 libsm6 libfontconfig1 libxi6 libxcursor1 libgl1-mesa-glx libxinerama1 libqtgui4}
*3. Once that has run its course we are going to install the ssh server. Remember this command is going to make your computer shut down. While it is shut down, carefully install your graphics cards. If you don't have any experience with this, I suggest you 3 minutes to watch this guide, because failure to install a graphics card the right way can destroy it.
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9x097QRXeA)
{sudo apt-get install openssh-server sudo shutdown now}
*4.Install your Card(s) and turn the computer back on.
*5. Make a new folder called "AMD DRIVERS123" inside of your download folder. Downoad the following 3 things into that folder. (1. AMD Drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/incomplete) (2. AMD APP SDK: http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/heterogeneous-computing/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/downloads/) (3. AMD ADL SDK:http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/graphics-development/display-library-adl-sdk/)
*6. Ok, now we need to unzip and compile those drivers. So, open a terminal my right clicking inside of "AMD DRIVERS123". The enter this:
{unzip amd-catalyst*.zip chmod +x amd-catalyst*.run} {sudo ./amd-catalyst*.run --buildpkg Ubuntu/saucy}
*7. Now we need to install the drivers. Enter the code exactly as you see it, don't worry, the first command will fail, we are expecting it too.
{sudo dpkg -i fglrx*.deb} {sudo apt-get -f install} {sudo dpkg -i fglrx*.deb} {sudo reboot}
Your computer should now reboot.
(If this failed, you probibly need to remove the old drivers. Do this
{cd /etc/default sudo pico grub}
Change the line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nomodeset"
Now save by pressing [CTRL+x]
{sudo update-grub} this will make the change perminent. {sudo reboot -n} Reboot with new settings. Once it starts back up try installing the new drivers again.)
*8.GREAT! You are really on a roll! Now we need to update AtiConfig
{sudo aticonfig --initial --adapter=all}
*9.Time to install the APP ADK:
{tar xvf AMD-APP-SDK*.tgz} {sudo ./Install-AMD-APP.sh} {sudo reboot}
*10. WOOT! You are so close to diggin that sweet Doge!! Its time to download CGMiner. IMPORTANT NOTE! You need to get CGminer 3.7, IT IS THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL WORK. Do not get any older or newer, Just this. :
{sudo apt-get install git unzip git clone -b 3.7 https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer}
*11. Ok, now go back to "AMD DRIVERS123", Unzip AMD SDL SDK 6.0. Once you have it unzipped, go the file called "include", open it up, copy everything inside, then go find CGminer. Copy these files into the CGminer file called ADL_SDK.
*12. To install CGminer, we are going to need a few things. Get all of these.
{sudo apt-get install build-essential autoconf libtool libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev pkg-config libudev-dev}
*13. Lets go ahead and compile CGminer.
{cd cgminer} {./autogen.sh}
*14. Ok, when you did that, it told you GPU was not supported, time to fix it.
{./configure --enable-opencl --enable-scrypt}
(if you did it right you should now get this: OpenCL...............: FOUND. GPU mining support enabled scrypt...............: Enabled ADL..................: SDK found, GPU monitoring support enabled)
*15. If everything has been good so far then
{make}
*16. MATHEMATICAL! Now lets get it set up to run a test.
{nano test.sh} {!/bin/bash export DISPLAY=:0 export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1} {./cgminer -n}
*17. Now save by hitting [Control+x][y][Enter]
*18.Lastly lets CHmod test.sh
{chmod+x test.sh}
*19. TIME TO RUN THE TEXT!!!
{./test.sh}
(If your output looks like this your ready to go!!! CL Platform 0 vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. CL Platform 0 name: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing CL Platform 0 version: OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1214.3) Platform 0 devices: 1 0 Tahiti GPU 0 AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series hardware monitoring enabled 1 GPU devices max detected)
*20. Excellent! Now we have it installed, its time to pick 2-3 pools, and get accounts set up at each of them. I currently use These 2, and If I find another I like I'll update. If you have a really awesome pool you would like me to include on the list, feel free to message me.
Pools: http://doge.cryptovalley.com/ (great community, server not super stable, but they have a chat. I hang out here a lot under the handle 'StrongBad' feel free to stop buy and ask questions)
https://dogehouse.org/ (Super stable pool, Great contests, super friendly, and they pay your miner a bonus if you find the block!)
Choose your pools, go to their sites and sign up. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Use different usernames and passwords for every mining site. If one site gets hacked, you don't want to give them a way to steal everything!!!!! Don't worry about the worker names and passwords being unique or complex tho, the most they can do with this is mine for you.
*21. Ok, now go to the CGminer folder, and open up a Terminal Window.
{sudo ./cgminer}
This should start ./cgminer up with some really basic settings, and not pointed at any pool. Lets fix that: First press [p] to go to pool settings Now [A] and enter the information for the 1st pool. For instance if you are signing on for dogehouse: (Input server details: stratum+tcp://stratum.dogehouse.org:3333 Username: 'yourusername.workername password: 'yourpassword') If you got no errors, you did it right! Your miner should now connect and start to mine very slowly.
Now, do the same thing for all your other pools. the reason we do this is because Doge Coin pools are constantly being DDoS attacked, and this way your worker automatically switches over to a good pool if one go's down.
*22. time to save your current settings press [Enter] to get back out to the main menu, then [s] to bring up settings. Now press [W] to write a Config file. Name it DogeCoin.conf, and make sure to save it in the location it directs you too.
*23.OK! So, now we have everything set up to its basics. What you need to do now is sit down, and fine tune your Card(s). Its really early in the morning, and I need to get some sleep, I will add more on how to tune your card tomorrow in another post, and link it HERE:
Or, I will help you find the best configuration for your card(s). However as this is quite a bit of work, I do charge a small fee. Contact me with your card(s) information and I will get back to you right away. I generally let you decide how much to pay me.
This is my first ever guide on reddit! If you enjoyed it, or if it helped you please remember to upvote! I am going to start doing an educational YouTube series about Bitcoin, and will likely be doing a side program about Doge, if I find time and funding!! You can find that here: All tips are appreciated! DPTwcQreASwzt6TeWBWFb6Kz9ZU5Sezvr9 If you have any Questions, feel free to ask, I will get back to you ASAP.
Happy Digging everybody!

CUDAMiner Optimization Basics

I've posted this information a lot recently to new miners with NVIDIA cards. This subreddit seemed like the right home for it, and hopefully this is will serve as a helpful starting place to clarify the very basics and get people started.
As always, watch your GPU core temperatures closely. Lower hash rates correlate to lower operating temperatures. Play with these features to adjust your hash rate according to the load your GPU can handle. For example, one of my cards has better cooling than the other, so I run them at different hash rates to keep them both in the temperature range that I'm comfortable with.
Getting Started (Windows Environment):
  1. Download and install the latest NVIDIA Drivers.
  2. Download and extract the latest version of cudaMiner (SEE BITCOINTALK - CUDAMINER LINK BELOW) .
  3. Create a new text file in the same directory as cudaminer.exe (x32 or x64, depending on your system).
  4. Open text file and enter your configuration into the new batch file (See below for samples. Change settings to match your specific set-up):
  5. Change text file extension to .bat
  6. Execute batch file (not the executable).
  7. ???
  8. To exit, CTRL+C to break, wait, then Y to exit OR press the "Red X"; If the the command window closes immediately, add "pause" to the end of the batch script to view the error.
  9. If running x64 version, try x32 version and compare results.
  10. !!!
  11. Profit
Common Errors
Error Possible Cause
Command prompt window flashes and closes. Usually indicates bad syntax or attempting to launch executable. Review batch script settings. Add "pause" to end of batch script to view error.
Stratum Authentication Failed / "HTTP Request failed; No Error" Indicates connection issue. Review server address & user credentials.
Memory error / Result doesn't validate on CPU / Error 30 (Indicates launch configuration is invalid/not optimal. Change launch configuration flags. Update drivers.
"json_rpc_call failed" You are launching the executable; you cannot do this. Create and launch using batch script instead.
:::Sample Configurations (EDIT TO MATCH YOUR SPECIFIC CREDENTIALS & GPU SETTINGS) :::Single GPU ::SingleGPU.bat cudaminer.exe -i 1 -C 1 -m 1 -H 1 -l auto -o stratum+tcp://YOUR.POOL.ADDRESS:#### -O USER.WORKER:WORKERPW :::Multi GPU, Multi Command Prompt ::GPU0.bat (Address/Login for Standard Pool Mining, 1st GPU) cudaminer.exe -d 0 -i 1 -C 1 -m 1 -H 1 -l auto -o stratum+tcp://YOUR.POOL.ADDRESS:#### -O USER.WORKER:WORKERPW ::GPU1.bat (Address/Login for P2Pool Mining, 2nd GPU) cudaminer.exe -d 1 -i 1 -C 1 -m 1 -H 1 -l K4x32 -o stratum+http://YOUR.P2POOL.ADDRESS:#### -O WALLETADDRESS:ANYPW :::Multi GPU, Single Command Prompt ::DoubleGPU.bat cudaminer.exe -d 0,1 -H 1,1 -i 1,1 -l K3x9,K4x32 -C 1,1 -o stratum+tcp://YOUR.POOL.ADDRESS:#### -O USER.WORKER:WORKERPW
Fundamental Flags:
  • FLAGS ARE CASE SENSITIVE
Setting -flag (Options) Description
cudaminer.exe N/A Call to execute cudaMiner
Specify Device -d (Any, counts from 0) Only for multi-GPU configurations: create multiple .bat files or use comma separated values.
Interactive Mode -i (0/1) When enabled, it reduces GPU utilization and hash rate to allow for computer use during mining
Enable Texture Cache -C (0/1/2) (Disabled, 1-D Caching, 2-D Caching) may increase or reduce hash rate, available according to your compute capability - check WIKI CUDA LINK BELOW
Memory Batching -m (0/1) Consolidates hash work into a single memory block and can lead to lower memory usage. Is implicitly enabled with Texture Caching.
Hash Parallel -H (0/1/2) (CPU Only, CPU Assist, GPU Only) determines how much work will be shared by the CPU. Defaults to GPU Only (2) if not specified.
Launch Configuration^ -l (auto/G/GBxW) Autotune, autotune for card generation, or specify particular setting. Defaults to autotune if not specified.
Server URL -o Address:Port Full URL of the mining server you wish to connect to.
Device Credentials -O User:Pass Username (or Username.Workername for pools) & password pair for the mining server for your device.
Debug-Benchmark Mode& -D --benchmark Verbose output to view block/warp chart and test a configuration.
  • NOTE ^ : This option is they key to tuning your hash rate and resulting GPU temperature. Choosing "auto" will enable autotuning, allowing cudaMiner to choose the best config. Choosing just "G," card generation code, will autotune for that specific card generation. "GBxW" is the specific setting you choose for the card where "BLOCK" is the row #, "WARP" is the Column number in autotune chart. Your BLOCKxWARP value should not exceed your maximum core configuration (WIKI GPU LIST BELOW), otherwise cudaMiner will crash/return error. For best results, the BLOCKxWARP value should be an exact multiple of your core config.
-For example NVIDIA GT 750M, Kepler card, row 4, column 32 is K4x32 (4x32=128). This is exactly 1/3 of and does not exceed the max core config of 384).
  • NOTE & : Autotuning reported hashrates are not always accurate, but you can use the results in the benchmark table to choose the ballpark hash rate you desire. If you define a setting or allow it to complete the autotuning, it will then begin the benchmark and show you the average hashrate once you end the sesion (CTRL+C). Before closing the command prompt, you can scroll back up and save a screenshot of the block table. Type "Y" after ending to close the program. Remember to turn OFF the flag -D --benchmark after you are done. This is benchmark mode; cudaMiner will not connect to the pool until you remove this flag

Casual Litecoin mining?

I'm interested in learning how mining works by stepping myself through the process for awhile. I'm not realistically looking to make any real profit, I just want to learn.
That said, I'm not interested in spending money on fancy miners and would prefer to just use a computer of my own and just leave the miner on in the background. My hope is that the comparative difficulty of altcoins to bitcoins will mean it's far less rough on my machine. Is there any truth to that?
I pulled a copy paste of my system info on the machine in question if that will help anyone. Could I casually mine litecoins or perhaps other altcoins without worrying about my machine?

Can someone help me troubleshoot my Skyrim crashing issues?

Occasionally, my pc will just crash while playing. Monitors go black (saying no input detected), the PC remains on but nothing can be done besides turning it off and back on.
I've followed all common instructions for fixing settings (Turning vsync off, lowering settings in general, etc.) but nothing has helped.
I don't think it's the graphics card overheating because I just turned on a bitcoin miner and let my graphics card heat up (got to 90 degrees) and didn't have any issues.
So what could it be? Power supply? CPU? What could be happening here?
My specs are as follows:
Windows 7 x64, HD6950, 8gb RAM, i5 2.7ghz, 750W power supply
